The Endeavour Boree Regatta is combined scout and guide event, held in October each year, with participation by groups from South Metropolitan Region Scouts and the Southern Sydney Rivers Region Girl Guides. The present aim of the weekend is to share the Boree Fire of Friendship with young members of both movements.
At the Endeavour Boree Regatta, members of The St George Amateur Radio Society will be operating an amateur radio station, for Jamboree On The Air, using the call sign VK2LE.
Over 500 Guides and Scouts are expected to participate in one or more of the Jamboree On The Air activities, receiving a JOTA badge in recognition of their participation.
With some additional work, there is an opportunity to earn a guide challenge or scout proficiency badge.
The Jamboree On The Air amateur radio station at the Boree Regatta is sponsored by The St George Amateur Radio Society with more than 10 amateur radio operators volunteering their time and efforts to setup and operate the radio station over the JOTA weekend.
